For a later Kern felony bail review, CR-0608F is the local optional request form, which the court continues to list on its local forms page. It asks for the original bail and arraignment facts, service on opposing counsel, and a hearing date at least three court days after filing on the form’s schedule. A separate 2026 standing order requires service of the motion on Kern County Probation at least two days before the hearing and proof of that timely service filed with the motion. That standing order says the clerk rejects a motion without the proof. (Kern County form CR-0608F; Kern Standing Order 26CS000001.)

Keep the different clocks distinct

CR-0608F’s printed schedule calls for a hearing no sooner than three court days after filing, Monday through Thursday at 10 a.m. in Department 1. Confirm the available date with the court before relying on that printed schedule. The standing order separately says Probation must be served at least two days before the hearing; it does not say “two court days.” Serve opposing counsel as the form directs, serve Probation under the standing order, and file proof of timely Probation service with the motion. Check whether a newer order has changed the local requirement before filing. (CR-0608F; Standing Order 26CS000001.)

This later motion is not the automatic five-day review under Penal Code section 1270.2. That statute concerns a preconviction defendant still in custody for want of bail after the original bail-fixing order, subject to its terms and waiver. A later Kern motion does not restart that initial statutory clock. (Penal Code § 1270.2.)

Prepare facts the judge can evaluate

Use the form to give the actual arraignment and bail information. The court considers the person’s ability to pay and less restrictive conditions in deciding the detention question; filing does not promise lower bail or release. Organize current financial information, available lawful support, and facts relevant to safety and appearance. (In re Humphrey; Kern County form CR-0608F.)

Before filing, confirm the hearing date, service on opposing counsel, service on Kern Probation at the address in the standing order, and filed proof. Keep the conformed motion and service records.
